STEM jobs shine bright in 2011 forecast












Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs were at the top of the list in CareerCast.com’s report of the 200 best jobs of 2011.

CareerCast tagged software engineer as the top job for 2011, while mathematician, statistician, computer systems analyst, meteorologist, biologist and audiologist all ranked in the top 10.

STEM jobs were also featured heavily in the US News list of the 50 best careers of 2011.

Top jobs included biomedical engineer, civil engineer, computer software engineer, computer support specialist, computer systems analyst, environmental engineering technician, environmental science technician, hydrologist, meteorologist and network technician.
