eCYBERMISSION’s Summer of STEM!

The summer of 2022 has been a special one, and we can’t believe that it’s coming to an end! This year saw our first in-person National Judging & Educational Event since 2019, the return to in-person NSTA conferences, and the opportunity to once again celebrate the STEM accomplishments of our amazing students together. This was truly our best summer of STEM ever!

NSTA Houston Conference

We kicked off the summer with the National Science Teaching Association conference in Houston. Along with our fellow AEOP programs, Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science and Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, we met with science teachers from all over the USA and showed them how they can incorporate AEOP’s free programs into their classrooms. We also hosted fun, interactive workshops!

National Judging & Educational Event

The highlight of the summer came in June, when we hosted our first in-person National Judging and Educational Event since 2019! National Finalist and STEM-in-Action Grant teams from Hawaii to Virginia convened in Washington, D.C. to compete for the National Winner title. During the week, they attended Department of Defense STEM workshops, toured the Nation’s capital, and made friends that will last a lifetime. Read up on our National Winners in our previous blog post!

MCEC Global Summit

Not long after NJ&EE, we headed back up to Washington, D.C. for the Military Child Education Coalition Global Summit. Being an Army Educational Outreach Program competition, ensuring quality STEM education for military students in the U.S. and DoDEA schools worldwide is near and dear to our hearts. We loved meeting the dedicated military and education professionals that make it happen and teaching them all about eCYBERMISSION!

NSTA Chicago Conference

We ended the summer the way we started, joining forces with the other AEOP programs at a National Science Teaching Association Conference. This time, we headed north to Chicago. We loved meeting and chatting with science teachers from all over, even running into some of our Team Advisors! We’ll see you at the next one in Atlanta!

The summer may be coming to an end, but the fun is just beginning. Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 eCYBERMISSION competition, and we are still accepting applications for our Mini-Grant Program.
