20 Ways to Find Your Fit at eCYBERMISSION
Have you ever wanted to get involved with eCYBERMISSION, but you’re not sure where you fit? There are so many ways to make a difference at eCYBERMISSION that fit all skill levels, personalities, and schedules. In celebration of eCYBERMISSION’s 20th Anniversary, we put together a list of 20 ways to know what role is right for you!
Team Advisors:
Team Advisors assist their teams of students in choosing a problem in their community to explore with science or solve with engineering. They are the first in line to support and engage with students and help them with their projects.
Team Advisors come in the form of teachers, parents,
after-school workers, and more! You would make an awesome Team Advisor if:
1. You enjoy working directly with students to answer
questions and provide assistance.
2.
You have a positive, problem-solving attitude
that inspires students to overcome obstacles.
3.
You are passionate about encouraging students to
follow their dreams.
4.
You believe in the importance of teamwork and
helping students learn to work together.
5.
You are patient and supportive of students
learning to think critically.
CyberGuides:
CyberGuides act as virtual mentors to students. They are sources of expertise and inspiration for students taking the first steps in their STEM journey.

CyberGuides are STEM professionals, college and graduate
school STEM students, military personnel, teachers, and more! You would be a
successful CyberGuide if:
1.
You have a passion for STEM and enjoy inspiring
students to pursue STEM.
2.
You enjoy answering questions and providing
advice.
3.
You believe in the importance of integrity and
encouraging students to challenge themselves.
4.
You have excellent problem-solving skills.
5.
You enjoy sharing information and stories about
your STEM journey and lessons you’ve learned.
Ambassadors:
Ambassadors are STEM advocates who are eager to support STEM education through outreach and networking. They champion the importance of STEM education to encourage student participation in eCYBERMISSION across the country.

Ambassadors are teachers, professors, STEM professionals, military
personnel, community members, parents, and more! You would love being an
Ambassador if:
1.
You are passionate about STEM education and
eager to encourage others to get involved.
2.
You are friendly, sociable, and enjoy networking
both in person and virtually.
3.
You are engaged within your community and want
to see it thrive.
4.
You have experience with and a passion for
eCYBERMISSION.
5.
You enjoy volunteering a little at a time all
year instead of all at once.
Virtual Judges:
Virtual Judges evaluate, comment, and score student projects, called Mission Folders.

Virtual Judges are STEM professionals, enthusiasts, or
students who want to lend their expertise to encourage students to pursue STEM.
You would make an excellent Virtual Judge if:
1.
You have a background in STEM and enjoy reading
about various STEM topics.
2.
You are a positive and encouraging person.
3.
You are a critical thinker who likes to think of
ways something can be improved.
4.
You want to support students in their STEM
journey by providing expertise and insight.
5.
You have limited time to volunteer but still
want to make a difference.
